    You will play a crucial role as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center by providing compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with various medical procedures to ensure the well-being of patients. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the unique needs of each veteran. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive environment, fostering trust and rapport with patients, and upholding the highest standards of nursing practice.

    What does a typical day look like for a Licensed Practical Nurse look like?

    You will:

    • · Begin your day by reviewing patient charts and care plans to understand the specific needs of each individual under your care.
    • · Administer medications, perform routine medical procedures, and monitor vital signs to ensure the well-being of the patients.
    • · Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as registered nurses and physicians, to coordinate and implement comprehensive patient care.
    • · Engage in patient education, providing information about medications, treatment plans, and necessary lifestyle changes.
    • · Assist in the organization and implementation of therapeutic activities and rehabilitation programs for patients.
    • · Document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
    • · Respond to patient inquiries and concerns, addressing their needs and ensuring a supportive and compassionate environment.
    • · Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and contribute to holistic care plans.
    • · Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the leader we're looking for if you have:

    • Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
    • Current and valid LPN license.
    • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Proficient clinical skills, including medication administration, wound care, and other nursing procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and safe patient care.
    • Knowledge and adherence to relevant healthcare regulations, including those set forth by the VA and other governing bodies.
    • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare-related software.
