    You will excel as a Registered Nurse at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center by providing compassionate and patient-centered care to veterans. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will monitor vital signs, manage medical equipment, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Additionally, you will engage in effective communication with patients and their families, educating them on their treatment plans and fostering a supportive atmosphere.     What does a typical day look like for a Registered Nurse ** look like?**

    You will:

    • · Conduct thorough assessments of patients in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit, reviewing their medical history, vital signs, and current conditions.
    • · Follow prescribed medical plans, administering medications and treatments as necessary. Ensure accurate documentation of all interventions.
    • · Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and adjust patient care plans based on ongoing assessments and medical updates.
    • · Regularly assess and reassess patients' responses to treatments, interventions, and medications. Implement changes in care plans as needed to address evolving health needs.
    • · Engage in patient education, explaining medical conditions, treatments, and self-care practices. Foster an environment that encourages patients to actively participate in their healthcare.
    • · Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing immediate care and coordinating with the healthcare team to stabilize patients.
    • · Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records, documenting all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
    • · Participate in meetings with interdisciplinary teams to discuss patient cases, share insights, and contribute to the development of comprehensive care plans.
    • · Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring a high standard of care and patient safety.
    • · Coordinate with other units or facilities when patient transfers are necessary, ensuring a smooth transition of care.
    • · Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing reassurance throughout the healthcare journey.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the leader we're looking for if you have:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
    • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
    • Relevant nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or medical center setting.
    • Experience in areas such as medical-surgical, critical care, or specialized nursing.
    • Proficient clinical skills, including administering medications, performing assessments, and providing patient care according to established protocols.
    • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
    • Knowledge of and adherence to ethical and legal standards in nursing practice.
