    So, what will a Hardware Technician at Terrestris do?

    You will play a crucial role as a Hardware Technician at the DISA Data Center in Manama, Bahrain. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine hardware maintenance to ensure optimal performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware issues promptly, and collaborating with the IT team to implement hardware upgrades. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and security of the data center's hardware infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to the planning and execution of hardware-related projects, ensuring that all equipment meets the required standards. Your expertise will be vital in sustaining the reliability and efficiency of the DISA Data Center's hardware systems, supporting the overall mission of the organization.

    What does a typical day look like for a Hardware Technician ** look like?**

    You will:

    • · Physically install cable switches, routers, firewalls, VPN hardware, console interfaces, racks, and related hardware.
    • · Install standalone servers, blade servers, server enclosures, and associated hardware.
    • · Install storage hardware, including Enterprise Arrays, Network Attached Storage devices, storage switching, data replication devices, hard-drives, and Host Bus Adapters.
    • · Install, terminate, label, and repair cables (copper and fiber) as per DISA work orders.
    • · Install supporting conveyance, patch panels, and trunks according to DISA work orders.
    • · Independently verify and validate baseline hardware and networks.
    • · Perform turnover of installed hardware to technical/operational staff.
    • · Terminate and remove cables (copper and fiber).
    • · Remove supporting conveyance, patch panels, and trunks.
    • · Prepare components for disposition following IT hardware provider or DISA instructions.
    • · Relocate IT hardware to DISA-directed location for disposition actions or retrieval.
    • · Perform all installation activities related to tech refreshes.
    • · Ensure proper termination and documentation of network cabling IAW American National Standards Institute/Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)-568 standards.
    • · Perform cable terminations for fiber and Ethernet with proper labeling.
    • · Execute circuit terminations.
    • · Provide onsite hardware touch labor support, including power-cycling servers, reseating switch cards, and replacing failed communications.
    • · Offer end-user phone guidance and resolution.
    • · Handle administrative tasks.
    • · Perform cable management using industry standard TIA-942 as a reference.
    • · Provide touch labor for hardware on the raised floor, including activities such as cycling power on devices, verifying cabling and power, re-cabling devices, re-terminating cabling, component replacement, device relocation, work-center configuration, workstation configurations, deployments, and cabling.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the leader we're looking for if you have:

    • U.S. Top Secret-SCI Security Clearance.
    • DoDM 8140.03 certification, ADP IT-Level II.
    • Seven (7) of the past 10 years experience in:
      • Directing the technical work on products.
    • Managing the work of the technician team.
    • Providing technical support to internal users in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging routine hardware, software or networking equipment problems.
