    You will play a crucial role as a Medical Technician at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center by ensuring the efficient functioning of medical equipment and assisting healthcare professionals in diagnostic and treatment procedures. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine tests, maintaining and calibrating medical instruments, and ensuring the accuracy of results. Additionally, you will contribute to patient care by collecting and processing specimens, performing basic laboratory procedures, and collaborating with the medical team to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans.     What does a typical day look like for a Medical Technician ** look like?**

    You will:

    • · Begin your day by reviewing the schedule and prioritizing patient appointments and laboratory tasks.
    • · Perform diagnostic tests, such as blood draws, EKGs, or X-rays, as prescribed by healthcare providers.
    • · Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate and timely collection of patient samples.
    • · Maintain and calibrate medical equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • · Adhere to strict safety protocols and infection control measures during all procedures.
    • · Input and manage patient data and test results in electronic health records systems.
    • · Assist in organizing and participating in training programs for new medical technicians.
    • · Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and alleviating concerns.
    • · Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to discuss and coordinate patient care.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
