Signal Control Products is seeking a dynamic Territory Manager to drive business development, sales growth and manage customer relationships within our Pennsylvania assigned geographic territory in the traffic controls industry. This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on account management, requiring expertise in traffic management solutions, infrastructure projects, and municipal/contractor relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding market presence, business and relationship development, maintaining key client relationships, and achieving ambitious sales targets while ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Territory Management
Manage and grow sales performance within assigned geographic territory, consistently meeting or exceeding established sales targets.
Identify and develop new market opportunities to increase sales revenue and profitability.
Conduct market analysis to understand territory potential, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in traffic control solutions.
Develop new relationships and partnerships within the market, introducing new technologies, products and services. Build long-term strategic partnerships with customers.
Account Management & Customer Relations
Service the needs of existing accounts and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers including municipal officials, contractors, and engineering firms.
Develop and execute account-specific strategies to maximize customer satisfaction and retention.
Serve as primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.
Sales Operations & Reporting
Formulate accurate sales forecasts and provide detailed territory reports as required by management.
Track and analyze sales metrics, customer requirements, and market trends to inform strategic planning.
Follow up on projects and orders, maintain updated account records, and monitor customer requirements throughout project lifecycles.
Project Negotiation & Pricing
Negotiate agreements with customers, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining competitive positioning.
Review existing product costs and pricing structures to determine optimal changes that maximize profitability.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive proposals and quotations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations and service teams to ensure customer orders and technical specifications are properly fulfilled.
Coordinate customer needs with staff to ensure timely completion and resolution.
Partner with technical teams to provide customers with appropriate traffic control solutions and specifications.
Participate in territory planning, forecasting, product line changes and business activities across the organization.
Business Development & Market Presence
Attend and actively support trade show activities to generate leads and acquire new business opportunities.
Represent the company at industry events, municipal meetings, and professional associations.
Build and maintain a strong professional network within the state traffic agencies (State and local levels) and with the traffic maintenance contractors.
Customer Service
Review customer complaints and quality issues to determine appropriate disposition and resolution.
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
Ensure all customer interactions reflect company values and commitment to excellence.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in traffic controls, construction, or infrastructure industries preferred.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a territory management role
Experience with municipal, state DOT, or contractor customer bases preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of traffic control products, applications, and industry standards
Proficiency in CRM software, sales forecasting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Knowledge of transportation infrastructure and traffic management principles

Working Conditions
Territory-based position requiring extensive travel within assigned geographic area.
Occasional evening and weekend availability for trade shows, emergency projects, or customer events
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
