    Position Title: Test Engineer

    Location: Aberdeen, MD

    Reports To: Lead Test & Evaluation Engineer

    Job Type: Full-time

    Clearance Requirement: Secret (US citizenship is a must)

    Summary:

    We are seeking a proactive and skilled Test Engineer to support the execution of all Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities for a modular, transit case based and vehicle mounted shelter configurations of on-board sensor and processor systems. This role is highly hands-on, focusing on planning, execution, data collection, and analysis for prototype experimentation and formal qualification testing.

    The Test Engineer will work directly under the guidance of the Lead T&E Engineer, contributing essential technical expertise to ensure the system is effectively tested for performance, suitability, and effectiveness.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Test Execution and Data Management:
      • Execute detailed test procedures for prototype development and formal test events (e.g., Developmental Test).
      • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot complex test equipment and instrumentation, particularly in Radio Frequency (RF) and communications environments.
      • Meticulously collect, manage, and process all test data, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and accurate documentation.
      • Provide real-time data analysis during test execution to ensure test objectives are being met and identify potential anomalies or failures.
    • Test Planning and Documentation Support:
      • Assist the Lead T&E Engineer in the drafting and review of critical T&E documentation, including the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and formal Developmental Test (DT) plans.
      • Develop detailed test procedures, checklists, and range support documents for specific test events.
      • Draft test reports, summarizing test results, system performance, and identifying deficiencies for engineering remediation.
    • Prototyping and Experimentation Support:
      • Support experimental test activities in lab and field environments during the rapid prototyping phase, focusing on validating system functionality and technical parameters.
      • Coordinate logistical requirements for test events, including range scheduling, equipment transport, and ensuring availability of required support personnel.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

    Experience:

    • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the Test and Evaluation (T&E) field, specifically supporting DoD or ruggedized industrial system testing.

    Skills:

    • Demonstrated experience in the execution of formal test procedures and methodical data collection in a testing environment.
    • Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot technical equipment in field settings.
    • Practical experience with the radio frequency (RF) spectrum, antennas, communications equipment, or software-defined systems.
    • Familiarity with the structure and content of DoD T&E documentation (e.g., TEMP, Test Plans, Test Reports).
    • Experience with automated data acquisition systems and test scripting.
    • Prior experience supporting testing within a Department of Defense Acquisition System (DAS) program or Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA) pathway.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to travel as required.
    • Standard office environment with occasional requirements to visit client sites, labs, or field environments.
