    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a Test Engineer supporting the Synthetic Training Environment – Live Training Systems (STE-LTS), you will play a critical role in advancing next-generation soldier training capabilities. This position involves the development, integration, and rigorous testing of immersive, interactive, and mobile training technologies designed to simulate realistic combat scenarios and weapons effects.

    Your work will directly contribute to enhancing soldier readiness by ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of virtual and live training solutions. You will collaborate with engineers, developers, and military stakeholders to evaluate system performance, identify issues, and implement improvements within a dynamic and mission-driven environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Experience Requirements:

    • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in systems or test engineering, preferably in the defense, simulation, or military training sectors.
    • Hands-on experience with live, virtual, and constructive training environments and simulation-based technologies.
    • Familiarity with one or more of the following STE-LTS technologies:
    • Immersive missile system training
    • Indirect fire simulation
    • Individual tactics and weapons effects
    • Wearable tech for posture-based adjudication
    • Platform-flexible combat training systems
    • Integrated training and management systems
    • Experience in test planning, execution, and reporting, with ability to write and follow detailed test procedures.
    • Proficiency with test and defect tracking tools
    • Working knowledge of systems integration, hardware/software testing, and networked training systems.
    • Familiarity with military training standards and protocols is a strong plus.
    • Prior experience supporting Federal Agency acquisition programs.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.

    Experience Preferences:

    • Prior experience working within or supporting the U.S. Army, Federal Agency training and simulation programs.
    • Familiarity with weapons systems and tactical operations
    • Experience with Soldier-wearable training systems and posture-based adjudication technologies
    • Involvement in the development or testing of reconfigurable simulation platforms.
    • Working knowledge of training management systems
    • Experience in agile development/test environments and DevSecOps processes.
    • Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools used in live training events.
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices as applied to training systems.
    • Previous roles that required interfacing with military end-users, field testing, or operational test environments.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry equipment (typically up to 25–50 lbs) during setup and teardown of training systems or instrumentation.
    • Willingness and ability to travel to field test sites, including outdoor environments, sometimes under varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, or kneel for extended periods during field testing or equipment calibration.
    • Comfortable working in military training environments, which may include noisy, dusty, or rugged terrain conditions.
    • May require extended periods of computer work during test documentation and analysis.
    • Must be able to safely operate basic hand tools and test equipment when required.
    • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety glasses, or hearing protection during live test events.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
    • Equivalent military or technical training with sufficient hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree, depending on the position level and client requirements.
    • Relevant certifications (ISTQB, Security+, or Systems Engineering certifications) are a plus.
