Job Summary:
The Test Technician performs final testing of shelters, including water-tightness, electrical function, and EMI. Additional responsibilities include supporting mechanical, structural, and environmental tests, fabricating test fixtures, resolving product issues, and witnessing offsite testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow instructions from supervisors, engineers, work orders, and ATPs
Conduct tests on schedule and record data accurately
Set up and operate test equipment, tools, and gages
Represent the test team during audits and customer/government inspections
Ensure work areas comply with safety and environmental policies
Initiate and follow up on NCM/CAPA processes
Occasionally witness or perform offsite testing (domestic/international)
Perform general tasks like moving materials, cleaning, and maintenance as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (Electrical trade school preferred)
1-3 years’ experience in testing or mechanical assembly
Proficiency in water-tightness, electrical, and EMI testing
Ability to read schematics and specifications
Experience with test equipment (e.g., digital volt meters, spectrum analyzers, high voltage power sources)
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor, noise, hazardous environments)
