  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Interpret unique prototype drawings, test specifications, and requirements
    • Assist product teams with the creation of test plans and experiments
    • Understand test requirements and carry out research & development test plans by:
      • Assembling prototype products
      • Carrying out tests using bespoke test equipment
      • Recording new processes and findings
    • Create written and graphed test data reports and help conclude outcomes
    • Present data to testing group and stakeholders, providing insights on key test events
    • Perform part conditioning and experiment with manufacturing methods to meet finish requirements
    • Draft new processes and procedures for testing activities
    • Reconfigure equipment to complete non-standard tests, based on requirements, design, and planning
    • Self-manage schedule, provide commitments, and execute effectively
    • Work safely and apply general safety practices at all times
    • Work in an organized manner, applying 5S principles
    • Drive the creation of written risk assessments
    • Contribute to team improvement projects
    • Manage inventory for key New Product Development (NPD) projects
    • Apply a methodical approach to fault finding and root cause analysis (RCA): isolating variables in both test equipment and new products
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Technical Degree (2–3 years)

    Experience:

    • 2+ years’ experience in a hands-on technical/mechanical role

    • Proven problem-solving background

    • Apprenticeship with a manufacturing organization (focus on mechanical engineering)

    And/or:

    • Academic project experience (e.g., Formula Student)

    • Technical hobbies that incorporate analytical or creative thinking

    People Skills

    • Strong teamwork and collaboration

    • Effective communication

    • Solid problem-solving ability

    • Planning and organizational skills
