    Our client is seeking a GIS Solution Architect for its end customer in San Diego.   Once travel restrictions are lifted, would need to travel to customer. This contract W2 position is for one year but most likely will be extended.

    The GIS Solutions Architect will serve as the conduits between businesses and technology. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of a systems solution, covering all of GIS including Desktop GIS (AFES), Mobile GIS and Web GIS. Using their analytical and problem-solving skills, the GIS solutions architect will craft adaptable, comprehensive business solutions appropriate for each client. The GIS solutions architect will also have responsibility for GIS strategy and application roadmap.

    The GIS solutions architects must have the ability to work with multiple computing platforms, including hardware and software. Oral and written communication skills are key, especially when dealing with corporate executives and colleagues. Experience in managing a project from start to finish is a must. GIS solutions architects should also have the interdisciplinary background and industry knowledge necessary to work with a diverse range of vendors and company departments.

    • Take ownership of a particular GIS solution offering
    • Develop and execute a solution strategy and business plan that supports growth of GIS applications
    • Act as visionary and strategist for GIS solution product area
    • Provides expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation
    • Help business development life cycle by serving as a GIS product SME to help identify and qualify business development opportunities
    • Develop and maintain vendor relationships within the product line
    • Provide end to end solution and design details
    • Lead development of formalized solution methodologies
    • Build and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents
    • Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
    • Provide quality assurance for services within the solution area
    • Mentor and guide more junior technical resources

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or another closely related field of study.

    Training and certification in GIS solutions is desirable. GISP certification ideal.

    Outstanding communication skills.

    The successful candidate must have 15+ years of direct experience in the deployment, configuration and management of ESRI GIS systems in an Electric and/or Gas utility environment.

    Experience with ArcFM from Schneider Electric is a must.
