We are working with a global CPG company in Chicago and they are seeking a contract Regional Procurement Manager (12-18 months) with a focus on Logistics and Supply Chain category for North America with a primary focus on warehousing services. Responsible for all aspects of the regional category spend including leading and executing global strategies.

Leads the process of regional supply market understanding, regional search, selection and contract strategy alignment for the category. Develop understanding of the regional supply base, and lead the strategy and execution to drive cost, innovation, risk management.

This position is accountable for creating a strategic advantage for this critically important spend.

Works to ensure contingency plans exist, an understanding of alternate supply sources is developed, and a balanced risk approach is achieved to minimize sole sourcing.

Duties:

Assist with development and implementation of Global Logistics and Supply Chain Procurement strategies and lead cross functional regional teams to unlock cost savings (and mitigate inflation) value, mitigate risk, and contribute to profits.

o Lead the execution of strategies through a matrix structure

o Demonstrate a high-level depth of understanding of the regional supply market for the spend. Manages strategic supplier alliances.

o Own the cost build up (clean sheet and TCO) and drivers for the regional spend to enable negotiations

o Interfaces with senior stakeholders for the execution of the regional strategy and results.

o Negotiate and complete contracting with suppliers.

Requirements:

o BS Degree and 7 years in Procurement, Category Management, etc.

o Strong understanding of warehouse operations, repacking, transportation, etc.

o Regional experience and strong cross-cultural awareness and leadership capability

o Ability to develop business cases and strategic business plans

o Can operate well in a team environment focused on collaboration
