Our client is seeking an experienced Data Architect for a utility project that will last at least one year near Windsor CT. This individual will be responsible for developing, optimizing, designing, defining and documenting a data blueprint for overseeing conceptual and logical data related Outage management systems. The duties will include developing, setting, describing and managing a data standard for all project related data using an interactions “consumer/provider” model between (integration) the outage systems.
To succeed, the Data Architect will need to be analytical, detail oriented, and comfortable with data minutia. A knowledge of data technologies such as replication, integration, databases, data structures, extract, transfer and load (ETL) techniques/functions with Oracle and Microsoft products is also required. Being able to determine data types, utilize canonical models and data exchange methods such as services, APIs, etc. are also key. The Data Architect must know how to examine new and existing data distributed within systems, gather details, determine requirements, understand system interfaces, as well as manage the implementation data migration models with system technical resources. A fine eye for detail, prior experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of the data analysis tools (OracleBI, PowerBI) and databases (Oracle and SQL Server) is critical.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective data solutions and models to store and retrieve data.
- Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating business operations, applications, and programming.
- Ensure data transaction integrity with completeness, accuracy and flawless transfer between systems.
- Assess data usage and security, consumer /provider implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
- Implement and organize information systems to guarantee functionality.
- Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for architecture and management teams.
- Determine and oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Generate system performance data testing methodology for regular (regression) testing, troubleshooting data issues and validating/integrating new features.
- Describe the existing methodologies that will be employed to store the data, the database technology to be employed and the processes that will manipulate/transform/transfer.
- Describe and determine data in storage, data in flight, use and data in motion (transformation). Provide descriptions of data stores, data groups, data/information items, data mappings, data artifacts, to data quality, applications, locations, destinations and consumers defined during the design phase of the data architecture & schema.
- Describe/document common support for data/information operations (i.e. support matrix, emergency procedures, data imports, data backups, external transfers of data etc).
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing data exchange between systems.
- Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, mining, and cleansing.
- Evaluate changes and updates to data source’s and destination systems
