Briefly, this is what I see the role doing:

    NMS Project Data Architect:

    1. Design, Define and document a data blueprint for NMS/OUA project and related applications, determine data target state, align data between systems during development and provide follow-up to ensure data is in the intended state for consumption defined by the blueprint.
    2. Develop/set/manage a data standard for all NMS/OUA project and related data using an interactions consumer/provider model between (integration) the data systems.
    3. Describe the data structures used by business and its computer applications software.
    4. Describe and determine data in storage, data in flight, use and data in motion (transformation). Provide descriptions of data stores, data groups, data/information items, data mappings, data artifacts, to data quality, applications, locations, destinations and consumers.
    5. defined during the design phase of the data architecture schema.
    6. Provide an administrative structurer to manage the data resources.
    7. Describe the existing methodologies that will be employed to store the data, the database technology to be employed and the processes that will manipulate/transform/transfer.
    8. Determine/describe and assist with interfaces utilized by the data provided/consumed to other systems.
    9. Describe/document common support for data/information operations (i.e. support matrix, emergency procedures, data imports, data backups, external transfers of data etc).
