WHAT WE NEED
As a Member Benefits Team Lead, you’ll help guide and motivate the team as TCDRS moves toward a more digital future, encouraging member requests to be submitted online and relying less on paper-based processes and forms. You’ll inspire the team to maximize potential, and ensure care, quality and professional service to members and annuitants. Through monitoring and performance feedback, you’ll support the team’s shift in work and skill sets necessary for the digital transition. With a goal-driven attitude, you’ll ensure the team meets customer expectations through established service level agreements while seeking out opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
· Inspire and motivate the team to achieve organizational goals
· Create cohesive teams that work efficiently together
· Provide guidance and training to maximize team potential
· Empower team with skills to improve/enhance confidence, communication and knowledge
· Provide ongoing coaching and follow-up so team has the tools they need
· Assist in transition to customers’ digital experience
· Manage/monitor day-to-day workflow and overall performance
· Establish objectives and set expectations
· Ensure team meets established service level agreements (SLAs)
· Ensure the team follows security protocols
· Provide continuous feedback to team members based on quality reviews/ performance evaluation
· Ensure procedures/resources are up to date and in compliance
· Participate in hiring, onboarding and training of new team members
· Assist team with benefit processing as needed
· Participate in organizational initiatives and strategic projects
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
· 5 years of experience in a business environment, pension benefits, insurance or related industry
· 3 years of experience in a team lead, supervisor or managerial role
· Excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships
· Demonstrated leadership skills and experience training others
· Advanced level of analytical skills and written and verbal communication skills
· Strong initiative for process improvement and technology advancement
· Efficient, analytical, thorough, observant and detail-oriented
· Advanced skills in general Windows based technology systems, including Microsoft Office products
