Texas Energy Engineering Services, Inc. (d/b/a TEESI Engineering) is in its 34th year of business and is seeking an experienced Commissioning Agent (CA) in our Austin (preferable) or San Antonio office location. CA is to lead, develop, and manage all aspects of Commissioning Projects from technical specifications development, managing and executing commissioning activities for existing buildings, renovation, and new construction commissioning projects. This position requires coordination with office staff, onsite and some remote, virtually working with owners, engineers, architects, and contractors primarily within the commercial, institutional, higher education, and K-12 school(s) environment.
Representative duties and responsibilities are listed but not limited to:
Actively participate, manage, and direct Commissioning activities for projects.
Conduct design document reviews.
Conduct LEED® and/or sustainable design project reviews.
Manage several projects simultaneously.
Ability to build successful partnerships and collaborative teams both internally and with other organizations.
Strong background with utilizing software and tools to maximize site observations and efficiency of commissioning tasks.
Assist design team with data gathering system diagnosis and construction observations.
Perform QA/QC review of drawings and specifications.
Experience in preparation of sequence of operations for HVAC and control systems and able to perform point-to-point, functional testing for commissioning of Controls.
Perform energy savings calculations and develop cost estimates.
Produce summary reports and presentations and deliver them to management and clients.
Travel required (20% of the time, primarily in Texas).
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution. Prefer high degree of familiarity with construction industry practices in public sector.
Minimum 3 (three) to 6 (six) plus years of stable and solid working experience with Building MEP Systems.
Previous commissioning experience with higher education, K-12, health care, mission critical, and/or commercial facilities.
Experience with building codes and standards.
Experience with facilities MEP systems energy evaluation and analysis a plus.
LEED AP, CxA, or other commissioning certifications is preferable.
Hands on experience with diagnosis, inspections, maintenance, and testing of facilities MEP systems is highly desirable.
Fundamental understanding of national building codes and industry standards.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, PDF/Bluebeam, and related programs.
Willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Ability to multi-task with a variety of projects to meet strict deadlines.

Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Project Management and scheduling experience.
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident eligible to work in US.
