The Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) is a nonprofit organization established in 1903. The purpose of TVMA is to support veterinarians as they practice the art and science of veterinary medicine in Texas. Today, TVMA is one of the largest state veterinary medical associations in the nation and is recognized for its leadership on important issues, innovative solutions and effective representation. The excellence of its educational programs, publications and legislative efforts has fostered an outstanding reputation among veterinarians and sister associations across the country.
Position Summary: The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Credentialing with the TVMA’s Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) program). The CVA program was established to address the staff training needs of veterinarians by educating veterinary assistants in the essential skills and knowledge needed to become effective contributors to the veterinary medical care team. Participants must successfully complete required training and testing requirements in order to become certified.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
CVA
· Maintains the CVA database and enters registration, demographic and billing data as needed
· Assists with planning CVA workshops throughout the year at various locations throughout Texas, including securing locations, speakers, room setup, etc.
· Markets the CVA program with the assistance of the TVMA communications staff
Other duties
· Assists the Director of Education and Meetings at the TVMA Annual Conference & Expo, Southwest Veterinary Symposium and other TVMA events as needed throughout the year, assisting with on-site logistics.
· Provides program information for TVMA publications
· Updates CVA web pages
· Assists other members of the TVMA staff in handling staff-wide responsibilities
· Maintain and assist with marketing for LVT and LVT student membership
Required Skills:

· Ability to work independently on projects and meet deadlines consistently
· Proficiency in MS Office computer applications, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
· Ability to learn and develop proficiency in the use of the TVMA association management software
· Ability to travel periodically throughout the year
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
· Marketing experience a definite plus
· Minimum three years related work experience in an office environment. Association experience preferred.
· Database experience required
