    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    SUMMARY The Project Manager/ Engineer oversees the project from beginning to end. This includes creating, updating and modifying drawings, and performs on-site visits to gather measurements, ordering parts for projects, creating detailed schedules, and various other Project Coordinator/Customer Service duties.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1.Creates/Approves CAD drawings for engineering projects.​

    2.Creates and modifies drawings for special assignments.

    3.Responsible for organizing drawing and project files.

    4.Perform job-walks with the sales representative and customer to gather essential information.

    5.Copies project drawings.

    6.Works closely with building regulating agencies, builders, contractors and the customer's engineering department.

    1. Keeps Project related items organized on the internal server.

    2. Delegate tasks to Draftsman.

    3. Update supervisors on job progress and schedules 

    4. Hold weekly meeting to keep all other team members up to speed on project progress

    5. Conduct a "Kick-off" meeting for each project.

    6. Order parts and follow up on lead times.

     

    COMPETENCIES 1.Technical Capacity. Experience with mining is a plus. 2.Communication Proficiency. 3.Problem Solving/Analysis. 4.Thoroughness.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has the responsibility of supervising the Engineering and Projects Department.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is a largely sedentary role; however, some job-walks and on-site visits will be required. This would require the ability to lift, walk long distances, use stairs and ladders, and bend or stand as necessary. It is estimated time in the field versus the office is 60-40.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    TRAVEL Overnight travel is rare, but happens on occasion.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least three years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    2. Has worked at least 3 years in the mining or material handling industry.
