    Tax & Accounting Manager

    Chamberland Business Accounting (owned & operated by PREVAIL) is a rapidly growing accounting and tax firm that exclusively serves small to mid-sized business clients with multiple offices around the country. We are recruiting for an Accounting & Tax Manager to join our team for our office north of Providence, Rhode Island. We have a history of strong and steady growth and are backed by a strong investment team. You will provide a structured package of services including monthly prepared statements, tax preparation and planning and most importantly – advice and consultation.     *This role does not have direct reports but manages a client base and must be skilled with working with multiple clients on a monthly basis. This is a high volume management of 70+ client's financials.

    LOCATION: The Chamberland office is located in North Smithfield, Rhode Island.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Your main responsibility will be to provide outstanding personal service to a section of our small business clientele in the following areas:

    Supervise and review monthly prepared financial statements; make accounting adjusments as needed. You will be working with 70-80 clients per month.

    Prepare and review tax filings (S Corp, LLC, 1040, etc.)

    Support our clients with ongoing tax planning and projections - this entails working directly with clients in the summer/fall for tax & salary projections and tax prep from January-April

    Facilitate client meetings for tax projections and recommendations

    Plans, supervises, review and completes client engagements/tax project work

    Develop long-standing relationships with clients through a high level of client service interactions

    Identifies opportunities within client base to expand services; presents new solutions that result in client growth & satisfaction

    Resolution of client issues as needed

    Year-end tax planning for various business entities in coordination with the business owner’s personal tax returns

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Bachelors degree required; preferably in Accounting

    · CPA or EA preferred

    · Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in an accounting firm working with small businesses and working with multiple clients on a monthly basis

    · Experience interacting with clients through various communication channels

    · Upbeat, confident personality allowing for client interaction

    · Experience with compilation engagements

    · Experience with tax return preparation for S Corporations, Partnerships and individuals

    · General knowledge of payroll taxes and filings required

    · Must be computer savvy and experienced with QuickBooks and MS Office; other tax software is a big plus!

    · Desire to learn and grow your professional skills

    COMPENSATION: We will reward your talents with an attractive salary plus production bonus. The salary range for this role is between $85,000-100,000 annually (plus bonus) based on years of experience and matched skills.
