Job Description

A prestigious law firm is seeking a litigation paralegal to join its LA or OC office. QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE STRONG EXPERIENCE HANDLING LARGE, DOCUMENT-INTENSIVE COMPLEX LITIGATION MATTERS AND, IDEALLY, HAVE TRIAL EXPERIENCE. Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure (state and federal), Rules of Court, and local Court rules are necessary. Ideal candidates will have e-discovery experience, great organizational skills, and an ability to work independently and/or with a team in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Duties will include reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing claim files and medical records; investigating witnesses; performing research; drafting disclosure and other documents; issuing subpoenas; drafting discovery requests, responses, and meet and confer letters; researching potential experts; and assisting with mediation and trial preparation. Strong technical skills and knowledge of either Relativity, Concordance or Summation are also very important. The ideal candidate must be a team player, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have the ability to interact with clients and others as needed.

In order to be considered, applicants MUST have a paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited school, a bachelor's degree, and at least 5 years prior legal experience and stable work history.
