    The Alliance’s mission is to create opportunities for refugees, immigrants, and underserved residents to achieve their goals for self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life. The Alliance is looking for a team-oriented and passionate Volunteer Coordinator to manage and expand the organization’s volunteer program. The Volunteer Coordinator's responsibilities include recruiting and training new volunteers, keeping a database of volunteer information and skills, matching volunteers to opportunities to support the organization’s mission, volunteer communications, volunteer recognition, and promoting the organization's mission to the public.

    Responsibilities:

    · Working collaboratively with staff to identify needs and create volunteer opportunities

    · Recruiting new volunteers through online platforms

    · Attending volunteer, internship, and outreach fairs to recruit volunteers and promote the organization

    · Collecting volunteer information, availability, and skills, and maintaining an up-to-date volunteer database

    · Conducting regular volunteer orientation sessions

    · Matching volunteers to opportunities that suit their skill sets and help advance the organization’s mission

    · Responding to and managing requests for group volunteer activities with corporate, faith-based, educational, and civic partners

    · Providing training to staff to ensure volunteers receive high-quality training and supervision

    · Tracking volunteer hours and accomplishments

    · Hosting volunteer appreciation events

    · Recognizing volunteers through the organization’s internal and external communications platforms

    · Keeping new and existing volunteers informed about the organization and volunteer opportunities

    · Maintaining updated codes of conduct and operating procedures that uphold the organization’s mission and justice statement

    · Preparing reports as required

    Qualifications:

    · Bachelor’s degree

    · 1-2 years of experience working in nonprofit volunteer services highly preferred

    · Working knowledge of databases

    · Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Word, Teams and PowerPoint

    · Experience and/or passion for working with refugee and immigrant populations

    · Experience with public speaking and community outreach

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    · Excellent organization and team-building skills

    · Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof is required on your first day of work.
