    Position Title: Adult Education Program Coordinator-Alliance East

    Reports to: Director of Education and Literacy

    Location: 7037 Capitol St, Houston, TX 77011

    FLSA: Full Time/ Exempt

    Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30-5:00: Some evenings or weekends may be required

    Description:

    Main duties include: Coordinate and schedule instructional activities at the Alliance East location including ESL, ABE/HSE, and Distance Learning and training classes. Oversee/conduct, orientations enrollment, testing, data entry, and documentation for the Adult Education and Literacy Program. Provide support to instructors and program staff with overall service delivery, verifying and documenting eligibility for programs, and maintaining accurate records and assure contract compliance for AEL Program.

    Main duties include:

    Coordinate, schedule, and conduct program orientations as needed.

    Collect, maintain, and verify program eligibility documents.

    Maintain and verify the accuracy of program data in TEAMS.

    Oversee the collection of required program data and ensure compliance with Alliance and funder’s requirements.

    Check program close-out for completeness and accuracy.

    Maintain pre-service and in-service requirements.

    Oversee/ conduct program outreach in the community.

    Represent The Alliance AEL program at community and civic events.

    Identify and establish relationships with community based service agencies.

    Promote literacy services to private employers in the area.

    Attend events host at the Magnolia Multi-Service Center.

    Provide referrals for the Financial Opportunity Center.

    Occasional travel to other sites in Houston.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications and Experience at this Level:

    Bachelor’s Degree Required.

    Experience with large databases.

    1 year experience in working in a non-profit setting.

    Strong inter-personal and organizational skills.

    Bilingual preferred.

    Demonstrated ability to work with people from many cultures.

    Ability to work well under pressure.

    Strong Computer skills.

    Excellent communication skills, oral and written.

    Flexible schedule.
