    Description: The Director of Clinical Services will have responsibility for the performance and delivery of culturally and linguistically competent quality mental and behavioral care provided by the Alliance Wellness Center on site and at off-site community-based locations. Programs specialize in services for refugee originating populations, and, in keeping with the mission of The Alliance, its services and activities will create opportunities for refugees, immigrants, and underserved residents to achieve their goals for self-sufficiency and improving their quality of life.

    Community Wellness Center services will include but are not limited to: 1) the provision of individual counseling, 2) family counseling 3) group counseling, 4) case management support, and 5) information and referral to other support services. In addition, the Wellness Center’s education and training programs will include training and supervision of student interns; and seminars and workshops offered to the general public and to mental health professionals.

    The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for coordinating and providing support for clinical services/programs and operations, and is also expected to maintain a fulltime counseling services caseload (to be negotiated), including the supervision of other licensed counselors and interns (caseload to be negotiated).

    Main duties include:

    Carry a full case load provide clients with counseling and other mental health direct services.

    Conduct outreach and identify community locations suitable for provision of direct service.

    Participate in the support of residents, interns and other mental health volunteers.

    Provide consult with the Managing Director overseeing the Alliance Wellness Center and Director of Psychiatric Services.

    Act as a resource for clinical staff.

    Advise on adherence to clinical best practices, applicable state and federal statutes, local health and safety laws and regulations.

    Practice and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement standards.

    Ensure compliance with Policy and Procedures Manual, Operations Manual, workload standards, professional practice, and monthly program reporting requirements.

    Responsible for all data and required documentation to be completed in a professional and timely manner.

    Maintain liaison relationships with local mental health care system providers and other resource partners.

    Engage and work with the Advisory Board.

    Be responsive to clinical services issues as they arise and provide leadership in outcome achievement and assessment efforts.

    Required Qualifications and Experience at this Level

    Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.

    Appropriate State of Texas licensure in their field of clinical practice.

    Five years of postgraduate experience in counseling and/or therapy preferred.

    Minimum one year of supervisory experience required.

    Must possess and maintain appropriate professional liability insurance.

    Must have knowledge/training in the culturally-competent provision of clinical services.

    Experience in public speaking and psycho-educational teaching.

    Ability to handle complex crises and/or clinical situations and to provide related supervision, training, and consultation to staff on as needed basis.

    Strong communication, critical thinking and organizational skills required to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical delivery systems for the agency.

    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and independently.

    Strong program development and evaluation skills required for clinical utilization tracking, clinical services training, and outcome assessment, and quality assurance and utilization review.

    Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice

    Must possess excellent verbal and written skills in English

    Ability to speak at least one language in addition to English

    Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (including some evening & weekend hours).

    Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver's License.
