  • Responsibilities

    Description: Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

    Main duties include:

    Prepare grantor billings, financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets and provide financial Reports to external agencies.

    Maintain financial security by implementing and monitoring internal controls

    Receive cash or checks and maintain adequate record on revenues received

    Prepare deposit slips for checks and cash received

    Enter bank information receipt information to the General Ledger in QuickBooks

    Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions

    Work closely with Supervisor in the preparation of periodic financial reconciliations of assigned program funds.

    Enter program data and program financial transactions into Accounting Software accurately and in a timely fashion.

    Monitor expenses for consistency with budgets

    Prepare and monitor program billing documents timely and accurately as directed by supervisor

    Monitor program budgets for proper and timely use of funds and for staying within the appropriate line-item budgets

    Respond to information requests from Funding sources.

    Ensure full compliance with company policy and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

    Consistently demonstrate ability to independently produce positive business outcomes aligned with organizational strategic initiatives and goals

    Perform job in a safe and ethical manner

    Perform other duties as assigned

    May supervise up to 2 staff/interns.

    Required Qualifications and experience at this Level

    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in accounting, Business administration, finance or a closely related field.

    Experience over a general accounting function; in a public agency or governmental setting is desirable. Experience in month closing, fund accounting and non-profit is highly desirable.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and other job related software/e-technology/cloud based solutions.

    Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.

    Demonstrated cross-cultural understanding and skills. Exceptional customer service skills and willing to learn in a multicultural community.

    Ability to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner; multi-task and remain detailed and organized; work independently, maintain confidentiality and strong client service at all times.

    Consistently demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas with the principles of continuous improvement.

    Strong organization and filing experience.

    Experience in State, Federal funding sources will be an advantage.
