The Human Resources Assistant will perform a range of human resources functions assisting the HR department. Duties include recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new and employees, setting up interviews, maintaining vital employee records, off boarding employees, and ensuring the smooth operation of the HR department.
Main duties include:
Participate in all steps of the hiring process to include, position requisition and approval, interviewing, reference checking, job offer letter, and onboarding.
Complete paperwork for new hires, promotions, transfers and other employment changes.
Works with the applicant tracking system in posting jobs, recruiting and onboarding new employees.
Assists in conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Agency goals.
Set up candidate interviews for Managers.
Administers personnel systems, procedures, and practices, such as recruitment, interviewing, hiring, employee records, job descriptions, payroll coordination and termination.
Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, or processes.
Assists with the maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
Provides clerical support to the HR department.
Assists with planning and execution of special HR events or trainings.
Complies with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
Coordinates and/or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and experience at this Level
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
At least one year of work experience in the field of human resources preferred.
Basic knowledge of human resource administration preferred.
Basic understanding of payroll practices a plus.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
