    Description: The Support Services Case Manager will maintain a list of programs and resources that provide supportive services across the City of Houston to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey, and will provide these information and referral resources to homeowners or landlords receiving City of Houston’s Homeowner Assistance Program (HoAP) services at a Housing Recovery Center. The Support Services Case Manager will be based at one of four City of Houston Housing Resource Centers, and will be supervised by site managers working with our City of Houston’s designated project partner, ICF.

    The Alliance is dedicated to ensuring all eligible homeowners are able to receive equitable services and access to eligible recovery resources throughout Houston, including populations who traditionally face language and cultural access barriers, as well as low-to-moderate income, elderly and disabled populations.

    Main duties:

    Interview applicants to obtain information to complete a needs assessment of supportive services to provide referral to City of Houston services, and other Hurricane Harvey assistance programs.

    Advise and explain supportive services program process and forms to homeowners and landlords.

    Collect and verify information.

    Effectively utilize all available resources.

    Enter homeowner, landlord or tenant information into appropriate computer system.

    Collect, receive, and analyze information from other sources to determine if programs or resources available are appropriate.

    Develop and maintain professional relationships with coworkers, homeowners, landlords, tenants and other external groups to provide effective and timely customer service, information, and problem resolution.

    Performs other duties as required.

    Required Qualifications and experience at this Level

    College Degree or 2 years’ equivalent experience.

    Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in social services or case management.

    Experience in the following areas in disaster recovery programs preferred: housing support services or programs; social services or case management; experience in Social Services Block Grant (SSBG), HUD CDBG, CDBG-DR, and/or FEMA Programs.

    Bi-lingual required.

    Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control during difficult circumstances and emergencies and to respond in a professional manner in all situations.

    Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Analytical skills that reflect the ability to focus on gathering and documenting detailed information.

    Good written and verbal communications skills.

    Willingness to work hours dependent on workload including evenings and Saturdays by appointment.

    City of Houston residents preferred.

    Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
