    Job Description

    The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness, a national nonprofit organization, is seeking energetic and passionate PSYCHOLOGY OUTREACH AND ADMINISTRATIVE RESEARCH INTERN for the 2021 Summer School Semester. These are part-time, unpaid internships with flexible hours. Interns will report to the Operations Manager.

    Psychology Outreach and Administrative Research Interns are required to participate in Alliance events and weekly supervision with our Postdoctoral fellows, as well as complete an independent project. The Intern will report to the Operations Manager.

    We strive to make our internship all-encompassing. You will learn about Eating Disorders, Non-Profits, and how an organization runs as a whole.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES GENERALLY INCLUDE:

    • Day-to-day administrative duties as assigned by staff
    • Prepare packets and materials for meetings and events
    • Data entry
    • Making phone calls following a script
    • Community advocacy
    • Clinician and donor research
    • Opportunities to attend Alliance-hosted mental health information sessions and training
    • Attend weekly supervision with The Alliance’s Postdoctoral Fellows
    • Observe a minimum number of Alliance-hosted support groups
    • All interns are required to produce a research project in which they will present to The Alliance’s staff. Topics may be chosen according to the intern’s interests or may be assigned

     

    INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

    • SPECIFICS: Unpaid remote internship with optional academic credit hours offered
    • TIME COMMITMENT: The internship requires a part-time commitment of 10, 15, or 20 hours per week.
    • INTERNSHIP DURATION: Spring Internships will start the week of May 10, 2021, and will run through the end of August.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in psychology, mental health, social work, or public health with an interest in non-profit organizations
    • Academic credit hours offered (optional)
    • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Technical computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
    • Comfortable working alone on assignments and in collaboration with others
    • Previous experience working with the public a plus

    Additional Information

    _The application deadline is March 19th. The first and second interviews will be scheduled from March 22nd through April 12th. Offer letters and onboarding will be sent the week of April 19th. _
