    JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: Development & Marketing Intern

    JOB FUNCTION: Assist in coordination implementation of marketing plan and donor recognition strategies

    REPORTS TO: Director Funds Development & Communications

    LOCATION: Arc Building 4016 9th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201

    SHIFT: Up to 15 hours/week 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m. MonFri: flexible hours during normal business hours determined by class schedule.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Actively support and further the Mission of The Arc of the Quad Cities Area. "To empower people with disabilities to believe in their own unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on advocacy, independence, employment, meaningful community life and personal happiness".

    2. Assists the Director of Development & Communication with the completion of the marketing plan. Aligns marketing plan with social media strategies to create original content under the guidance of the Director.

      1. Supports the agency in the implementation of events and outreach activities that enhance The Arc's brand in the community. Helps coordinate and develop recognition communications for donors of The Arc.
    3. Assist in the planning and execution of The Arc's fundraising events, coordinating volunteers and recognition of community partners.

      1. Participates on internal committees and workgroups as assigned.
      1. Attend meetings and training sessions and perform other duties as assigned.
    4. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. High School diploma or G.E.D required
    2. Currently enrollment in Bachelors degree program from accredited university or college in related field.
    3. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
    4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
    5. Ability to interact professionally with others required.
    6. Strength to life equipment and supplies required.
    7. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing.
    8. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite software preferred.
