The Art Institute of San Antonio is seeking applications for part-time figure models.

** Please note: Current students are NOT eligible to apply.**

**** The primary purpose of the figure model is to provide students with the opportunity to practice, learn, and improve their perceptive skills and quality of artistic expression through observational drawing techniques and analysis of the human form.

Candidates should be able to create suitable, interesting, and sustained poses, both draped and undraped, as directed by a course instructor. Poses will vary in length from 30 seconds to 20 minutes, with multiple exercises over a four-hour period. Figure models may be asked to provide creative costuming and/or props for these sessions.

Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as a part of a team.

Job requirements: A high school education or equivalent.

Ability to arrive on time as scheduled.

Ability to pose draped and undraped.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Ability to create and hold a variety of interesting poses, without movement, for varied durations.

Ability to demonstrate awareness and confidence of own body in space and around.

Knowledge of figure modeling techniques.
