    THE BROOK HILL SCHOOL STUDENT MONITOR JOB DESCRIPTION

    POSITION: Student Monitor

    GRADES: 8th-12th

    CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, non-exempt

    MISSION STATEMENT:  The Brook Hill School provides excellence in college preparatory education, affirms the gifts and challenges the potential of each student, and encourages students to honor God through Christ-like character.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in education
    • Knowledge of and experience with relevant technology
    • Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
    • Must be 25 years old or older

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Seamlessly and deliberately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into day to day work
    • Oversee and intentionally interact with boarding students while on duty
    • Be available to work after school, in the evenings, and on weekends when students are out of class (as determined by the monitor schedule)
    • Work with the team of boarding parents and on-duty Residence Life team members to share responsibility and oversight of all boarding students
    • Interact with and develop relationships with boarding students
    • Guide and support the students in their school activities and decisions
    • Enforce Residence Life Handbook policies and guidelines
    • Communicate and interact with Residence Life Team
    • Take an active role in ensuring the school's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing pertinent information and commentary to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives
    • Consistently partner and communicate with parents in the shared desire of student growth and success by providing academic information, suggesting educational and social resources, and addressing parents' concerns
    • Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with Brook Hill team members in order to strengthen student performance and support
    • Participate in the broader ministry of Brook Hill by contributing time, talent and treasure beyond assigned role and responsibilities
    • Continue professional and technical growth by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director
