    The Manufacturing Engineer will work throughout the organization to maintain and improve manufacturing processes, implement best operational practices, provide engineering assistance, and facilitate project management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements. • Assist in creating, collecting work measurement data (e.g. time studies, work sampling) to establish valid standard times and work methods to improve productivity and to aid in capacity and financial planning. • Research, design, modify and test manufacturing methods and equipment. • Review existing process flows and identify opportunities for process improvement, elimination of waste, and implementation of best practices throughout the integrated manufacturing organization through the use of Lean/Continuous Improvement tools. • Assist Foundry Supervisors in data collection and reporting, develop and train on standard work, Job Methods and Job Instruction (TWI). • Use problem solving tools including; A3, 8D and Kata. • Assist Foundry Supervisors in auditing processes relating to safety, quality and productivity. • Develop, facilitate, and participate in process improvement projects across the integrated business; work to ensure the sustainability of project results. • Improve efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space and equipment layout. • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs; review production schedules; estimate future requirements. • Assist in developing and implementing cost reduction initiatives. • Maintain product and process data and documents. • Perform other tasks as assigned. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineer role in an industrial environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTE REQUIRED: • Exhibits intense commitment and focus on explicitly defining processes as well as a disciplined adherence to those processes. • Sets clear written expectations, using a defined process to track and follow up on accomplishment of assigned tasks • Eager to empower employees to improve their own areas through structured programs aimed at eliciting and implementing ideas. • Demonstrate the company values of honesty, caring, improving, and success. • Communicate effectively with others. • Growing knowledge of foundry and pattern shop best practices. • Experience using AutoCAD . • Knowledge of how to use relevant information systems needed to perform the job. • Strong attention to detail and well organized.
