    BUSINESS ANALYST

    Critical to the implementation of all browser-based projects, the Business Analyst provides the functional link between design, client expectations, and development. From authoring functional specifications to configuring CMS properties, quality assurance testing and training clients on CMS use, this position is involved in every phase of a project cycle. To succeed in this role, you should have a natural, analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. An ideal candidate should also possess a strong previous IT project background and is able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for understanding technology and the customer's environment.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    GATHER FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS FROM CLIENTS 

    • Gather functional requirements from client in partnership with UX team at discoveries and other client-facing meetings 
    • Documentation of critical information shared during strategy, design, development, and delivery meetings

    CREATE FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS 

    • Authors functional specifications used to focus development team efforts throughout a project 
    • Work with teams to define client needs and ensure client requirements are being met 
    • Conduct full handoff of functional specifications with development team to ensure seamless handoff between project phases

     

    SERVE AS CMS FUNCTIONAL EXPERT   

    • Maintain knowledge of supported CMS platforms to serve as functional expert on projects 
    • Provide critical day-to-day support of content management system (CMS) implementations 
    • Oversees or executes the appropriate configuration of CMS properties 
    • Participates in the preparation of data, client documentation, and solution deployment as required 
    • Communicates needed changes to development team 
    • Employs daily capability in creative problem solving and shows an acute attention to detail 
    • Serves clients and through daily interaction with bug-tracking tools, working with Project Leads to ensure client understanding of critical and non-critical issues alike

    SUPPORT EXECUTION OF QUALITY ASSURANCE TEST PLANS 

    • Demonstrate a strong ability to design solution test plan in collaboration with developers and QA analyst 
    • Support execution of quality assurance test plan to deliver high quality solutions to clients 
    • Work as part of a team to perform quality assurance reviews of specifications for internal and external delivery

    ADVOCATE FOR CLIENT BY COMMUNICATION OF SOLUTION REQUIREMENTS  

    • Serve as advocate for client needs by clearly communicating solution requirements with clients and across C2 project teams 
    • Identify and address competing priorities that could cause disconnect between client and C2 project teams

     

    DEVELOP TRAINING CURRICULUMS FOR CONTENT MANAGERS 

    • Create project documentation including client trainings guides with the mindset of application of content management best practices and user adoption 
    • Prepare agendas, documentation, and additional training resources for remote and on-site client sessions

    ENSURE CLIENT ADOPTION THROUGH TRAINING DELIVERY  

    •  Demonstrate and train clients how to effectively use delivered solutions and manage digital channels 
    • Assist the implementation team in conducting the User Acceptance Testing of the developed solution

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree specializing in business administration, IT, computer science or equivalent work experience
    • One (1) to two (2) years of experience analyzing business processes to develop business requirements and functional specifications
    • Broad understanding of project and software development lifecycles, including concepts, testing, and methodologies is required (ex: Agile, Kanban) 
    • A familiarity with, and understanding of, popular software issue tracking systems, such as Atlassian JIRA 
    • Content Management System (CMS) experience and ability to understand the difference between site requirements for CMS users and site uses
    • Can work with multiple integration points for a technology stack such as WCM/CMS, PIM, DAM, etc
    • Experience translating technical information to non-technical users in training sessions
    • Prior experience testing web services/APIs
    • Basic understanding in areas of application programming, database and system design, and how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other
    • Knowledge and experience of web design processes to help clients prioritize and maintain communication objectives

    THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE C2 GROUP OFFICE IN GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN. APPLICANTS MUST BE CURRENTLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES ON A FULL-TIME BASIS. __
