UX DESIGN INTERN

The User Experience (UX) Design Intern bridges the gaps between user experience and visual design to deliver a functionally strong, aesthetically pleasing, and seamless end-user experience for the sites and products created by The C2 Group. The UX Design Intern has the skill not only to create high quality graphics, but the ability to apply their creations to a user-centered design. The role works closely with project strategists, experience architects, front end developers, back end developers, and the client to bring the goals and objectives of our projects to life for the betterment of the end user's experience. Success as a UX Design Intern will require a passion for usability, an eye for visual consistency, and a knack for reducing the complex to the essential. This role will be called upon to assist in client-facing as well as internal projects, always keeping the end user's experience foremost.   ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES

• Contribute to the initial brainstorming and project planning processes, focused on user experience and the visual design process, and provide insight and creative ideas that align with client business goals and communication objectives.
• Synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to derive personas, use cases, concepts, user journeys, and information architecture.
• Generate creative concepts and ideas, apply them to interactive experiences and communicate them effectively through words and images.
• Collaborate on wireframes (including appropriate responsive states) and other prototypes.
• Translate the requirements and objectives of strategic research into intuitive user stories.
• Assist with usability testing on projects.
• Assist or lead the implementation of user experience and design throughout all the pages of the website.
• Express creative concepts through visually attractive designs that achieve functional specifications, communication objectives, and promote use experience satisfaction.
• Follow industry best practices for UX design and processes, gathering sufficient information to support appropriate recommendation for any given platform or technology.
• Outside of client work, assist in all internal C2 marketing efforts ensuring that all design aspects align with the C2 brand.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Student working toward a bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent at an accredited university with a graduation date no later than May 2020.
• Availability between 16 and 20 hours per week for a 12- to 16-week duration.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong ability to form creative thoughts/concepts and articulate them through spoken, written and visual communications.
• Attention to detail in client-facing interactions, including all UX/design deliverables.
• Understanding of web design and mobile application standards.
• Working knowledge of front-end development/markup (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Working knowledge of end use technologies (content management systems, intranet systems, customer relationship management systems, etc.).
• Experience with responsive web site design standards and requirements.
• Ability to handle several projects at once.
• Working knowledge of the Adobe suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Basic project management skills.
• Support daily office and marketing needs.
