    POSITION SUMMARY

    As a bartender, you will be responsible for providing customers with an exceptional drinking and dining experience.  Duties will include preparing drink orders for the restaurant, serving patrons seated at the bar, monitoring the cash drawer and helping to maintain proper alcohol inventory levels.    

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    ·         Responsible for setup, maintenance and operation of the bar

    • Interact with guests in a friendly and positive manner welcoming each guest personally within 30 seconds

    ·         Work as a team with all Restaurant personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service

    ·         Serves wine and bottled or draught beer as well as prepare garnishes, mix alcoholic cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes

    ·         Ring drink/food orders into POS system immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change

    ·         Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with Restaurant standards

    ·         Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Restaurant standards at all times.

    ·         Wash and sterilize stemware

    ·         Maintain inventory and bar supplies

    ·         Other duties as directed

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    ·         Responsible service of alcohol. Should a guest reach the state you do not feel they should drive, offer a taxi service, Uber, etc.   Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary.

    • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
    • Assist with takeout orders when needed
    • Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
    • Must be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better
    • Must maintain Serv Safe certification
    • Must have or be able to obtain State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card
    • Proven bartending experience a plus
    • Previous experience in a customer service based role
    • High school diploma; previous food safety training considered a plus
    • Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol
    • Basic reading and writing skills are required
    • Basic mathematical skills in order to handle money and make change for both customers and staff
    • Working knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations
    • Basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes
    • Knowledge of Restaurant’s food and beverage specifications
    • Basic computer skills
    • Customer-oriented approach and strong communication skills
    • Ability to work well with other teammates while maintaining a positive attitude

    • Multi-task oriented
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift
    • Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe

    • Must be able to safetly lift up to 45 lbs.
    • Frequent washing of hands
    • Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns
