    Overview

    At The Casual Pint, we love craft beer. Are you a craft beer enthusiast looking for a fun, fast paced environment in which to work? A locally owned Huntsville restaurant & craft beer bar is seeking a Shift Manager. We are looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude to lead our team.

    Primary Responsibilities The Shift Manager's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing The Casual Pint service standards.

    Ensure company image is upheld, including restaurant cleanliness and staff appearance.

    Assists with hiring staff with assistance from Owner & GM.

    Trains new and existing team members by reviewing and revising training materials, delivering training sessions, reviewing training results, as well as on the job coaching as needed.

    Ensures staff complies with standard operational protocols and policies.

    Promotes sales by educating staff and customers on the latest craft beers, wines, and packaged cocktail offerings.

    Helps increase sales and maximize profits by controlling labor and food costs.

    Responsible for publishing weekly staff schedule and ensuring all shifts are covered.

    Manage, book, & coordinate events and large party reservations.

    Create and update items in the point of sale system.

    Must learn all basic store operations including basic food preparation, presentation and guest services

    May have to fill in wherever needed when short-handed or during busier times

    Qualifications

    The Shift Manager candidate shall preferably meet or exceed the following qualifications:

    High School Diploma or GED is required.

    At least 2 years management experience in restaurants with a proven track record is preferred.

    Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

    Strong organization and interpersonal communication skills.

    Thorough knowledge of craft beer styles and flavors, with a basic knowledge of wine and spirits.

    Ability to obtain ServeSafe Manager certification within 90 days of being hired.

    Exceptional time management and organization skills.

    Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Experience working Front of House and Back of House.

    20-40 hours per week

    Compensation

    The Shift Manager is an hourly position; compensation is based on relevant experience.

    The Shift Manager reports directly to the General Manager.

    Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

    The Shift Manager will be subject to the following:

    Walks and stands up to 8 hours or longer if needed.

    Performs duties that require bending, lifting, reaching and turning.

    Transports items and containers (weighing up to 50 lbs.) to and from stock and kitchen locations.

    Lift and maneuver kegs weighing up to 165lbs., with assistance, up to 6 or more times per shift.
