    REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Communications

    CLASSIFICATION: Full Time

    SCHEDULE: Generally Monday through Friday. Work days and hours may shift depending on scheduling needs; typical schedule will be 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; flexibility required.

    SUMMARY: The Digital & Design Coordinator works within the Communications department, focusing on branding, graphic design and digital marketing, supporting the creation and production of digital and print content, including advertising campaigns, promotional materials, website content, emails and social media collateral. The Coordinator also supports the Communications department with website updates and maintenance and digital advertising. The Coordinator will be a highly skilled graphic designer with advanced technical capabilities in email and website maintenance, with basic video editing skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist the Senior Director of Communications in developing creative direction for Center branding and marketing efforts.
    • Manage and fulfill materials requests, assisting colleagues with navigating a creative brief submission, through the revision process to completion with a focus on adherence to deadlines.
    • Maintain The Center's editorial calendar for email and social media communications.
    • Oversee and drive production of all promotional and marketing collateral (apparel, brochures, posters, postcards, water bottles, etc.).
    • Provide campaign art direction and design support to highlight various Center programs and services, collaborating with departments across the organization to determine strategy and direction.
    • Work with external designers and artists on special projects, overseeing production of artwork and its integration into campaign collateral. 
    • Update content, create new pages and provide maintenance for The Center and Cycle for the Cause websites.
    • Contribute to the video production process including storyboarding, shooting, editing and incorporating motion graphics when needed.
    • Supervise digital media intern, including assigning tasks and managing workflow.
    • Support The Center's overarching email program by assisting with email production, design and scheduling.
    • Establish and manage production timelines for marketing efforts to support The Center's work, with a particular emphasis on supporting the Cycle for the Cause bike ride.
    • Execute the graphic design and production of flyers, posters, social media graphics, promotional materials, video and other marketing materials.
    • Source, create and post content to The Center's social media platforms and respond to incoming messages.
    • Integrate and protect The Center's brand and visual identity across digital platforms.
    • Report on website, digital advertising and social media performance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing or a related field of study preferred or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum four (4) years of communications experience in a professional setting.
    • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
    • Knowledge of HTML and CSS, content management systems, such as WordPress, and website maintenance.
    • Well-versed in social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram and YouTube) and able to follow and adopt new media trends.
    • Experience using social media within nonprofits and/or for social change; applicants must be enthusiastic about using online communications to reinforce The Center's presence and expand its reach.
    • Basic experience with video publishing and editing; working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere a plus.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to learn and work with new technologies on-demand.
    • Thorough attention to deadlines and detail.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and complete projects on time and within budget.
    • An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural bias, racism and gender identity inequities, and their impacts on the communities served at The Center.
    • Spoken and written Spanish skills are a plus.
    • A strong commitment to the mission of The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
