Matrimonial - Family Law Associate Attorney
The Colwell Law Group, an up-and-coming legal practice with offices across the great state of New York, is currently in search of a knowledgeable and passionate Matrimonial and Family Law Attorney. Our experienced legal team is dedicated to providing support to those undergoing difficult times in their lives. Our attorneys aid our clients by lending expertise to matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence. To be successful in this role, a candidate must be composed, an excellent negotiator, and remain steadfast in challenging and highly charged situations. Responsibilities: • Manage a personal caseload meticulously • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders • Communicate with senior partners, attorneys, and legal support staff to effectively move through the litigation process • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing their situation, and forming a strategic plan of action • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court appearances, conferences, hearings, and trials • Attend legal team meetings and monthly case reviews organized by the Director of Legal or the Regional Managing Attorney Qualifications: • Must be a licensed attorney to practice law in the State of New York • Demonstrated proficiency in communication and negotiation • Prior litigation experience (with a focus on Matrimonial and Family Law is preferred) • Possesses strong legal research and writing skills • Outstanding professional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 yearly
