Holy Culture is looking for a few daily news and article writers! The ideal candidate will write 2-3 daily news and original evergreen stories per week, along with the coverage of daily stories highlighting Christian Hip-Hop culture and artists. The position is remote; the company is based in Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities

• Write a daily story with original reporting covering Christian Hip-Hop culture sharing knowledge.
• Stay up to date on relevant trends, stories, and experiences that impact Christian culture.
• Coordinate story parameters with Managing Editor.
• Strong understanding of current events.
• Research and craft stories in a way that resonates with our audience.
• Coordinate the licensing and creation of photography, graphics, and videos.
• Diligently maintains schedules and workflows.
• Pitch story ideas

Qualifications

Education / Requirements

• Knowledge and passion for the Hip-hop culture, history, and current affairs.
• Must be scrappy, proactive, creative, and agile.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, be proactive, and take the initiative.
• Interest in daily news writing for a newspaper or digital media.
• Solid news judgment and grasp of journalism best practices.
• Detail-oriented.
• Excellent writing skills, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to work well with others under strict deadlines.
• Holds ethical journalism standards.
• Works as a team player
