    Role Overview The Interior Design and Event Coordinator loves hospitality and enjoys creating experiences that make a lasting impression. This position designs special elements for the church campus and executes the decorative process. In addition, this position helps strategize, organize, and execute church and outside events, ensuring design and event objectives are in alignment with The Cross Church mission to spread God’s fame by making disciples of all people and are accomplished with excellence in our fast-paced, high-performance culture. This position reports to the Operation’s Coordinator.

    Job Classification* Part-time non-exempt, 20-30 hours per week. *Hours and days per week for this position will vary depending on scheduled events, holidays and other ministry plans.

    Responsibilities and Expectations

    Create and execute visual experiences, such as photo back drops and other elements that compliment church initiatives and sermon series.

    Participate in design discussions and give feedback during planning and strategy meetings.

    Solicit information from ministry leaders and outside event points of contact to plan and execute individualized event and design strategies.

    Present design plans, including furniture, lighting, and other material s, with timelines and cost estimates.

    Onsite management of events with enthusiasm and excellence.

    Assist with the set up and tear down of temporary visual effects as well as assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of facilities.

    Assist in the coordination of staff and volunteers needed to execute events.

    Conduct final walk throughs prior to events.

    Monitor the event and bring issues to the attention of the appropriate event or ministry leader.

    Coordinate with outside vendors as needed.

    Steward church resources with care, such as furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, and other resources.

    Attend worship services, staff meetings, department meetings and other meetings as needed.

    Foster a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with staff, volunteers, and church families.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Experience and Critical Skills

    Committed to biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally, including but not limited to I Timothy 3:1-7 and I Peter 5:1-4.

    Established pattern of Bible study and prayer.

    Strong creativity, artistic ability, and imagination.

    Event coordination experience, including the execution of large events.

    Ability to work during peak times, including nights and weekends.

    The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships with staff and church members.

    Ability to use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

    A keen eye for detail and visual design care.

    Exceptional problem-solving skills.

    Excellent written and communication skills.

    Relational, self-motivated, strong work ethic, dependable, reliable and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

    A prayerful, tithing, and participating member of The Cross Church is expected.

    Sufficient good health to discharge duties properly.

    Passing criminal, financial, and sexual misconduct background checks required.
