Our church... is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. Filmmaker...will work with the Creative Team to create videos for our weekend services and other ministry areas across all campuses and our partnerships in unity with the vision of The Crossing. The main responsibility of the position will be to lead in the process of pre-production planning, filming, and post-process editing and delivery of final files. This candidate must be an effective storyteller and have keen discernment, be able to think creatively in a group setting, work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and must meet deadlines consistently through self-leadership and time management.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead in the creation of original or adapted video content to be used for church-wide experiences including the weekend services and the ministries at all campuses, determining the scope and direction of projects requested and assigned through completion as determined by ministry or supervisor
- Provide new and fresh concepts for videos projects that live in the tension of being culturally relevant while maintaining a solid biblical foundation
- Responsible for Media pre-production, filming, and post-production/video editing.
- Actively participate in weekly team and brainstorm meetings
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast or film or equivalent
- 4+ years working in creative industry or equivalent
- Mac OSX, Adobe CC; specifically, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop
- Experience in video pre-production, production, and post-production work including video planning, filming, and editing
- Mac OSX, Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
- Effective, honest, and compelling storyteller through the use of video
- Effective time management; ability to meet deadlines consistently; prompt
- Good sense of humor and can-do attitude
- Flexible, teachable team player
JOB NICE-TO-HAVES
- Previous experience working at a church
- Mastery with video and image editing software, communication skills and attention to detail
- Expert with production equipment, including lighting, sound, camera, and other on-set equipment
- Proficient in producing content for YouTube, Vimeo or other online platforms
- Ability to take quality notes, document work, and translate directives into finalized product
- Understanding of revision process and ability to work through revisions diligently
