    JOB SUMMARY

    The purpose of this 35 hour per week position is to oversee and implement local Outreach Serve Days, Outreach: DIY, and other projects in conjunction with The Crossing's non-profit/organization community partners.  The ideal candidate will be able to manage projects, recruit and shepherd volunteers, and develop and maintain relationships with key community leaders.  This position will include weekday office hours as well as minimal evenings or partial weekends as needed.  The ideal candidate will have experience with volunteer coordination and outreach/missions.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee all elements of Serve Day and DIY, which includes establishing projects, gathering supplies, maintaining communications, recruiting volunteers, etc.
    • Provide leadership and staff presence during Serve Days
    • Develop and support volunteer leaders/team
    • Set and maintain budget related to Serve Days and other projects  
    • Build relationships with community partners and volunteers
    • Maintain storage shed space and fixed assets related to area of oversight
    • Create community serving experiences for other ministries as requested
    • Provide oversight for specific InReach projects, as assigned
    • Contribute to Outreach social media and communications, as assigned
    • Assist with large events such as Give Food and Backpack Attack, as assigned

    ALL QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS MUST MEET THE ABOVE JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS, IN ADDITION TO THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL STAFF MEMBERS OF THE CROSSING:

    • Attend a service on a weekly basis
    • Be passionate about The Crossing and a relationship with God
    • Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
    • Completion of all Vision Venues within the first year of employment
    • Regard the Bible as God's final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
    • Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing's Statement of Faith, including our view on baptism
    • Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles
