Full-time Middle School English Language Arts Position
The Dorris-Eaton School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated middle school educator who will further our students’ enthusiasm of the written word—both what they read and what they write. We believe that student achievement is strongly linked to an engaging curriculum delivered by effective educators.
English Language Arts Curriculum Overview
Our language arts curriculum is taught at an advanced level and dedicates significant focus and time on literature, writing, and grammar. Literature study includes a variety of genres, both classical and modern, that are explored through traditional literary analysis, discussion, and other mature, innovative forms of interpretation. Emphasizing the basics of vocabulary building and spelling coupled with grammar instruction lay the groundwork for impressive writing. Dorris-Eaton’s writing curriculum develops students’ skills in multiple genres including speech writing, short stories, research papers, creative writing, PowerPoint presentations, and all varieties of essays.
