What we expect from our Area Lead…
The Area Lead works with our GMs and Area Directors, and is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Edge Kids curriculum is executed to the high standards established by the Edge Fitness Clubs, in every class, every day.
The person in this position spends about 60% of their time teaching every day, with the balance devoted to day-to-day operations and to build a top-notch team committed to providing outstanding member experience every day.
Know and understand the Edge Kids philosophy and program, and can communicate information correctly, clearly, and professionally to parents.
Train all new hires for the company, both in Edge Kids and the club as well
Run GREAT kid’s classes that are high energy and FUN!
Perform other administrative duties not listed here

You enjoy being a goofball and love giving high-5’s (Background in fitness - athletics, sports, dance, cheer, gymnastics, martial arts, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field helps, as well as experience working with children such as teacher, sports camps, or similar

General Club Responsibilities
Support and articulate Edge Kids mission
Adhere to Edge Kids Policies and Procedures
Greet parents and check in children to Edge Kids in a professional and friendly manner
Be energetic, enthusiastic and motivated
Engage and instruct children in age appropriate fitness games and activities according to provided curriculum
Support fellow staff in all areas of the Edge Fitness Clubs
Demonstrate a positive attitude
Be comfortable with children ages 12 weeks through 12 years
Keep room neat, clean and sanitary
Work within clubs and community outreach events
Working split shifts and occasional weekend days are required
Interviewing staff with the understanding of the Edge Kids standards
Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts as well as call-outs and events
Coach and train staff
Key Qualifications:
Ability to work flexible hours – Nights and one weekend day is a requirement
Demonstrates a “roll up the sleeves” mentality
Must have a passion for working with kids
Must have a passion for fitness
Positive and enthusiastic
Committed to training and ongoing personal development and the development of your team
Can demonstrate excellent class management skills
Must have a good work ethic; be reliable, on time and dependable
Must pass a criminal background check
Education & Experience:
Has history of leadership and people management of functional teams including proven success in leading, coaching and motivating teams
Experience in youth programming preferred
Experience in exercise science preferred
Experience in working with children required
Certifications:
CRP certified a plus
First Aid certified a plus
Epi Pen certified a plus

Work Environment:
This job operates in child care environment in a health club and occasion office work is necessary. The position will interact with children, Edge coaches and supervisors and members on a daily.
Travel:
There is some travel in this position. The employee may be asked to travel locally to other clubs or to corporate for meetings.
Position type & expected hours of work:
This is a part time nonexempt position with varied hours based on the needs of the business. Occasional evening, weekend and split shift work will be required as job duties demand.
Supervisory Responsibility:This position oversees the full breadth of offered programs, ensuring that the extremely high standards of The Edge Fitness Clubs are adhered to in every class, every day. Most Area Leads spend approximately 60 percent of their time teaching classes and the balance of their time doing administrative duties as well as overseeing supervisors and managing programs. This position reports to the General Manager of the club as well as the Area Director.
