Job Description
This is a hybrid position located in the Washington DC area.
Provide support to a federal agency in streamlining its operational processes using process modeling, analysis, Lean Six Sigma and reengineering techniques, as required. Support the effort to create a guidance document development framework, guidance documentation content, and its maintenance. Support all project management activities including project schedule development and maintenance, status meeting scheduling and leadership, task coordination, and quality assurance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to operationally execute this project to effectively meet all project requirements and customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- As part of a Team, support all Project Management activities including development and monitoring of a master project schedule, tracking parallel workstreams, provide strategy and support to project-related communications, leading client and task lead interactions, ensure outstanding quality to all developed materials.

- Support all BPR and process improvement activities as dictated by the project and directed by the client including but not limited to:
- Developing and supporting prioritization of a process inventory
- Defining process improvement project charters featuring scope, risks, SMEs, etc.
- Support scheduling and executing all Kaizen event sessions
- Understanding the as-is, identifying challenges and improvement opportunities, agreeing on improvement strategies for the to-be, etc.
- Supporting the development of all process models using the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN)
- Supporting the development, scheduling and briefing project and organizational leadership on an ongoing basis regarding individual process improvement projects, the overall effort, specific topics, etc.
- Supporting development of corresponding to-be process documentation such as but not limited to a process narrative or standard operating procedure, job aids, frequently asked questions, etc.
- Supporting to-be process deployment activities including the development and delivery of training, communications, and change management materials.
- Support Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) efforts.
- Support development of a framework process for organizational guidance document development and maintenance. Lead development of framework requirements – including appropriate corresponding processes and requirements – and support execution of framework processes.
- Support maintenance of organizational guidance documentation through the conduct of content audits, pipeline development and tracking for organizational standard operating procedures and policies, manage the review and vetting process for documentation review, maintain documentation metadata, support updating/uploading to client intranet.
- Support client intranet improvement efforts as related to guidance document publishing, searching, retrieving, and support improved access to developed and deployed guidance documents.
- Support close coordination with other, appropriate client initiatives to ensure proper alignment and alignment, as appropriate.
- Support development of an organizational content management strategy through the review and maturation of governance standards.
- Support development of appropriate documentation frameworks and content standards for multiple types of documents including standard operating procedures, job aids, etc.
- Work with organizational subject matter experts to develop or update guidance documents as dictated by organizational leadership. Develop the processes related to the guidance documents then develop the corresponding documentation based of the developed framework.
- Coordinate the content development and updating of process by scheduling and supporting all appropriate meetings, conducting research on governance policies and regulations, and benchmarking peer organizations, preparing first draft of processes/guidance documents, coordinating and supporting the vetting and review process, developing final versions of all documents, developing appropriate change management and communications materials, supporting deployment to the client intranet, and continuously reviewing processes for efficiency and documentation for updating.
- Support Job Aid development and alignment to internal client tracking system.
- Actively work to intimately understand the client environment, actors, requirements, etc. and become the client’s “trusted partner” for all things process or documentation related.
- Actively work to expand the project to new areas in support of meeting client needs and expectations.
- Develop training materials and deliver training to organizational staff, as necessary, on developed guidance document framework.
- Provide other client support, as tasked.
