Our firm is hiring an Associate Attorney to handle Personal Injury matters. The Associate Attorney will support us by conducting negotiating settlements, legal research, defending and taking depositions, preparing clients for depositions, drafting pleadings, maintaining client relationships and expectations, and assisting senior legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities: • Negotiate Personal Injury Settlements • Depositions • Pre-Trial Hearings • Second-Chair Trials • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings • Collaborate with clients and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits and settlement agreements to be used in prelitigation and litigation proceedings Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base Compensation: $80,000 plus yearly
