    OVERVIEW:  

    The primary responsibility of the Marketing Specialist is to help “make it rain” by helping the Owner in creating the annual Marketing Plan that supports the Business Plan and Budget to deliver the targeted gross revenue within the Marketing Department Budget and sees to it that the Marketing Plan is executed. The Marketing Specialist is an Exempt position. 

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

    The Marketing Assistant reports to the Owner.

    AUTHORITY:

    The Marketing Specialist supervises vendors working in the Marketing Department. 

    Non-attorney support staff are prohibited from practicing law by the ABA’s Rules of Professional Conduct and State Bar Association rules. All client-focused work done by the Marketing Specialist must be in support of and under the direct supervision of an attorney. In dealing with clients and potential clients, the Marketing Specialist must be careful not to inadvertently slip into the unlawful practice of law. This would include answering client questions about what will happen in their case or recommending that a client undertake a certain course of action during their case.

    The Marketing Specialist must also develop a comprehensive understanding of State Bar Rules regulating advertising and ensure the Firm’s marketing materials and efforts comply.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Assists the owner in developing marketing plans with strategies and tactics (both short and long range) to ensure that the firm reaches or exceeds revenue targets.

    • Contact potential referral sources to arrange meetings with the owner. Maintain the top-of-mind awareness system to deepen relationships and increase value of current referral sources.

    • Oversees the organization's CRM systems, advertising, and promotion activities including print, online, email, video, and direct mail tactics. Assist in developing marketing materials for targeted audiences or locating and supervising appropriate vendors to execute on advertising tactics.

    • Selects and project manages outside contractors or vendors on ongoing marketing projects.

    • Works with writers and graphic artists and oversees copywriting, design, layout, and production of marketing items. 

    • Keep the Client related sections of the Firm’s website and social media (Facebook, Twitter and Linked In accounts) up-to-date and fresh.  

    • Assists the owner in developing and recommending pricing strategy for the organization that will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.

    • Achieves satisfactory ROI on marketing tactics as well as achieve a satisfactory share of the market.

    • Evaluates results to ensure moving swiftly in relation to marketing challenges and opportunities to be certain that revenue targets are reached or exceeded.

    • Conducts client feedback activities through implementation of client surveys and implementation of complaint systems to avoid and/or calm dissatisfied clients.

    • Keep abreast of the Firm’s social calendar and ongoing and upcoming projects and programs to be able to inform prospective clients and to answer questions from staff.

    • Coordinate and arrange seminars and workshops as required by the Marketing Director/Owner.

    • Other duties as may be assigned by the Owner.

    • The Marketing Assistant will always maintain the Firm’s marketing documents and materials (electronic and paper) in locations that are accessible to the Owner and Firm Administrator.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

    • The Marketing Assistant should have educational background in marketing at the associate degree level, or should have work experience in marketing at an equivalent level.

    • One to three years of experience working in marketing is preferred.

    • B. A. degree with major in business, marketing, advertising, or communications preferred. MBA a plus.

    • A strong track record and prior marketing experience, with or without a degree, is essential.

    • Deep understanding of all aspects of internet marketing

    • Experience with CRM systems, graphic design software, social media, WordPress, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 

    In order to share performance expectations, you must be excited about hitting the below KPI’s:

    2. Increasing ROI by marketing channel

    3. Increases in number of leads

    The above KPI’s are subject to change but are provided to give the candidate an idea of KPI’s for this role.

    HOURS & SALARY

    This is a full-time job with an awesome opportunity to continue growing, so you absolutely must be able to work in the office or remote for 40 hours per week. Hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with an hour break for lunch. 

    The salary for this role is based on experience and will start at $50,000.
