    Job Description

    The Western Company, an online retailer of western footwear and apparel, has an entry level position available for an energetic individual who loves working with people and helping solve problems.

    This position will be completely remote but the ability to come in (if possible) will extend the potential for progression with the company through additional responsibilities.

    We are looking for a lot more than just a tech-savvy customer service agent. We are looking for someone who likes being valued at work, and who likes to leave a company and a position better than they found it; someone who understands that customer and vendor relationships can make or break a business; someone who can multitask in their sleep and is constantly driven to do and be their best, especially when it means thinking outside of the box.

    A typical day in the position will involve placing orders with our suppliers via their B2B websites, responding to customer emails, taking phone calls from customers, working with our suppliers to resolve customer issues, and processing customer returns. We are a small but dedicated team. You will work directly with the owner of the business and may be expected to help with tasks that fall outside of customer service. This is a great opportunity to learn all aspects of operating a successful eCommerce business.

     

    • $13 per hour to start (up to $18, depending on experience)

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Providing an outstanding customer service experience via email, live chat, and phone
    • Working in direct contact with our suppliers to create a better experience for our customers

     

    Additional responsibilities As a smaller company, everyone on staff chips in here and there to help with tasks outside their primary responsibilities. These aren’t things you necessarily have to have experience in, but it’s important to us that you’re flexible and have a can-do attitude. Such additional responsibilities may include:

    • Returns and exchanges (very minor manual labor, nothing more than 10lb)
    • Inventory feed updates
    • Order input and management
    • Data entry
    • Accounts payable

    • Proficient with modern technology
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Superb critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
    • Experienced multitasker

    Compensation and Benefits

    • $13 - $18 per hour starting pay, depending on experience and performance
    • Paid vacation days, major holidays, and sick days
    • Annual educational stipend (TBD)

    (Our office is located near Peoria and 47th, just off of I70, and our office hours are 8am – 4pm.)
