    POSITION SUMMARY

    Even though you may not come into direct contact with guests, your responsibilities are key

    to The Fennec's success.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Our growing events department is looking for a seasoned prep cook who is familiar with banquets and event service. A qualified applicant will have 3+ years of experience in fresh protein, vegetable, and fruit preparation.

    A current food handlers card or serve safe certification, knife roll, valid ID, and dependability. Flexibility is key due to an ever changing events schedule. Part-time or full-time for the right conditions.

    Receiving product and organizing coolers.

    Prep recipes and menu items to spec.

    Properly labeling, dating, covering and refrigerating prepped items for the line.

    Performing opening, closing & side duties – setting up, stocking, and breaking down all

    kitchen equipment and prep, line, expo stations.

    Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

    Cleaning dishes and operating a dish machine as needed.

    Practicing safety and sanitation standards.

    Having a sense of urgency.

    Communicating professionally with co-workers and Front-of-the-House staff.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Must be legally able to work in the United States.

    Must be the minimum legal age to be employed

    Performing duties which require bending & reaching

    Lifting & transporting up to 100-pound containers, dish racks, and trash cans

    Standing or moving, for up to 8+ hours

    Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.

    Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.

    Maintaining a well-groomed appearance.

    Following all uniform guidelines.

    Practicing all general safety & sanitation standards

    Recycling products, where possible

    Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere

    Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency

    Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers

    Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
