Job Description

The Furniture Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the day to day floor and purchasing business results are achieved. The Specialist will also oversee the Floor Design Coordinator and ensure that all new product gets to the Sales Floor and is properly inspected and displayed to maximize sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Responsible for ordering ALL accessories
• Ordering and ensuring all lamps and artwork are fully stocked the sales floors.
• Govern and manage the weekly rug reports.
• Responsible for container ordering/reordering.
• Will manage the Floor Design Coordinator position including: ensuring that all new products get to floors; managing the Floor Design Coordinator daily floor reports; and inspecting all new products.
• Oversee and manage line-up; when items are dropped, remove them and when new items are ordered, add them.
• Set-up special-order pricing
• Ensure that all new products are added to the website by the web team.
• Responsible for visiting floors to ensure there are no issues and that floors are “as expected” including floor items are clean and tagged correctly.
• Responsible for the going over the new items coming to the floors with the store managers and floor coordinator.
• Responsible for scheduling sales meetings with representatives and make sure they are schedule with each store.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration required
• Minimum of 2-3 years in purchasing required
• Experience in furniture industry is preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Strong computer skills; prefer advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication, listening and follow up skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Professional and positive demeanor
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to pass background check
