Job Description

The INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall supply chain and logistics operations to maximize efficiency and minimize cost of company’s supply chain. Responsible for the movement, storage, and the flow of products within the company supply chain. The INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST works across multiple functions and companies to ensure that the company’s products arrive successfully and meets all requirements. Responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient flow and storage of products in order to meet customer requirements. The main focus for supply chain specialist will be to increase the company’s competitive advantage while the main focus for logistics will be meeting customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate the company's daily logistical operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution
• Schedule and track containers in transit to ensure on-time delivery
• Manage the import of containers from various ports to local distribution centers
• Negotiate shipping rates with current carriers to maintain the most cost effective shipping, while maintaining a high level of customer service
• Work with ocean and domestic carriers to minimize delay and improve transit times
• Track and analyze logistics costs and identify ways to mitigate extra costs
• effectively communicate and build relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams
• work with accounts payable to validate charges related to logistics
• oversee and coordinate a multitude of import and domestic supply chain management functions
• establish vendor relationships and ensure optimal levels of inventory are maintained, while increasing inventory turns and satisfying customer demand via in-stock merchandise
• review and analyze daily and weekly operational reports and monitor operational performance to ensure products are in stock, vendor commitments are maintained, and purchase orders are cut in a timely and adequate fashion
• maintains acceptable ROIs
• Design and perform data analyses as needed to address and resolve operational concerns
• other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business
• 3-5 years of supply chain experience
• strong analytical skills, decision making ability, and demonstrated business acumen
• flexible approach to negotiating
• willingness to be able to work to time-sensitive deadlines is essential
• strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel
• strong communication skills
• professional and positive demeanor
• experience in ocean freight logistics
