    The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support effective decision making within the organization. This role focuses on analyzing costs, preparing budgets, conducting variance analysis, and providing valuable insights to management to enhance operational efficiency and profitability. The Management Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for cost optimization and implements systems and processes to monitor and control costs effectively.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned

    Inventory Management:

    · Coordinate the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of period end close activities for inventory and related inventory reserves, including journal entries, account reconciliations and roll-forwards in accordance with reporting deadlines.

    · Manage inventory processes and provide analysis of company performance by collecting and interpreting and presenting key reports to management.

    · Monitor manufacturing costs and data, purchase price variances, production variances and inventory budgeting, and reporting.

    · Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems for finished goods.

    · Maintain the inventory costing system, including the performance of regular cost reviews at least quarterly.

    Cost analysis and Reporting:

    · Analyze and evaluate product costs, operational expenses, and variances to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

    · Prepare regular financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, cost center performance reports, and cost allocation reports.

    · Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, tools, and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency of cost data.

    · Report on margins by product and division.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    · Collaborate with department managers to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

    · Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets, analyze variances, and provide insights to management.

    · Assist in the preparation of financial models and scenarios for strategic planning and decision making.

    Cost Optimization and Process Improvement:

    · Identify cost saving opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce expenses while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.

    · Conduct regular cost and profitability reviews and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability.

    · Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive process improvement and implement cost control measures.

    Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

    · Conduct financial analysis, including cost benefit analysis, pricing analysis, and return on investment (ROI) calculations.

    · Support management in evaluating business opportunities, capital investments, and cost related decision making.

    · Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support required by management.

    Compliance and Internal Controls:

    · Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and regulations.

    · Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain data integrity.

    · Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

    · Maintain up to date process documentation.

    Competencies

    · Proven experience as a cost accountant or management accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

    · Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, methodologies, and practices.

    · Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

    · Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.

    · Exceptional knowledge of analyzing risks, preparing forecasts, cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

    · Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost accounting modules.

    · Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.

    · Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) or professional certification a plus.

    · 5 years previous experience as management accountant or related accounting experience, concentration in cost accounting.

    · Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), experience with accounting software.

    · Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year
